About Us

1. At that time, the renowned and people-friendly Maharaja Shri Krishnakumarsinhji of Bhavnagar initiated the establishment of a hospital for public health.
   
   

2. Sir Takhtsinhji Hospital, Bhavnagar, is a tertiary care and government medical college-affiliated hospital. It provides comprehensive healthcare services to patients from Bhavnagar city, Bhavnagar district, and neighboring districts.
   
   

3. Sir Takhtsinhji Hospital has been operational since the year 1939.
   
   

4. In the year 1995, a government medical college was started with 50 undergraduate (UG) seats.
   
   

5. Currently, the hospital has 200 undergraduate (UG) seats and 132 postgraduate (PG) seats.
   
   

6. Sir Takhtsinhji Hospital has a total of 1021 beds, including 137 critical care beds.
   
   

7. The hospital includes a Cancer Care unit equipped with advanced radiotherapy and chemotherapy facilities.
   
   

8. It is the first in the Saurashtra region to have a state-of-the-art 3T MRI and 128-slice CT scan, housed within the PMSSY Super Specialty Block.
